Breast Fat Transfer Before and After

Breast implant removal, or explant surgery, involves the removal of breast implants along with any surrounding scar tissue. The decision to remove implants may stem from personal preferences, lifestyle changes, or complications, such as capsular contracture. After removal, patients can achieve a more natural appearance with smaller or more proportionate breasts that complement the rest of their body. Some patients choose to have a breast lift or revision to reshape breasts after removing implants. Below, you can view before-and-after photos showcasing our breast implant removal results.

Breast Fat Transfer FAQ

You may be a good candidate for breast fat transfer if you have enough excess fat in areas like the abdomen, hips, or thighs and want a subtle increase in breast size without implants. Ideal candidates are non-smokers, in good health, have a stable weight, and have realistic expectations.

The recovery time for breast fat transfer is around four to six weeks in total. Most patients can return to normal activities within a week, but need to avoid exercise or strenuous activity for at least four to six weeks to allow for proper healing.

The results from breast fat transfer are considered permanent, as long as you maintain a stable weight. Once the transferred fat has successfully integrated into your breast tissue and established a blood supply, they are permanent. Of course, natural aging processes will continue to affect your breast shape, volume, or position over time.

Significant weight loss may lead to a reduction in breast volume, as the transferred fat cells can shrink just like the fat in other parts of your body. However, if your weight remains stable, the results are generally long-lasting.

Most patients can expect an increase in breast volume of about half to one cup size, depending on the amount of excess fat available for transfer and how well the body integrates the transferred fat cells.
