Rhinoplasty in Newport Beach
For many patients, the size or shape of their nose is a big concern. A rhinoplasty or “nose job” reshapes the nose, bringing it in greater harmony with the rest of the face and achieving the profile you desire.

About rhinoplasty
What is rhinoplasty?
Cosmetic rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to enhance the aesthetic appearance and proportions of the nose. Also known as a “nose job” or nose reshaping surgery, it addresses concerns such as pinched or flared nostrils, an excessively low or high nose bridge, overly large nasal tips, any nose shape issues such as a hump on the bridge or a scooped profile, or any nasal asymmetry that disrupts the overall harmony of the face.
This procedure gives you a more refined and attractive nose by reshaping or resizing certain areas in a way that addresses your concerns and achieves improved balance with your other features.

Rhinoplasty candidacy
Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?
During your consultation, we will have a discussion with you to make sure that you are a good candidate for rhinoplasty. In order to qualify, you’ll need to be in generally good health. Patients who smoke are unlikely to be good candidates for the procedure. Your face will need to be fully developed in order to qualify for a rhinoplasty procedure; for most people, facial growth finishes between the ages of 17 and 22.
Patients typically undergo cosmetic rhinoplasty to make the nose more appealing, to achieve a more pleasing facial profile, and to enhance facial harmony.

WITH RHINOPLASTY, WE CAN FIX:
Drooping nose tip
Asymmetrical nose tip
Crooked nose
Overly large nose structure that distracts
A nasal bridge that is too low or too high
Nasal tip that is too small or too large
About rhinoplasty
Types of rhinoplasty procedures
There are two main types of rhinoplasty: open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty. We also offer revision rhinoplasty if you’ve undergone rhinoplasty in the past and are dissatisfied with the results. We will carefully determine which procedure is best for you given the structure of your nose and the changes you wish to make.
A closed rhinoplasty uses small incisions inside the nostril so there is no visible scarring. Closed rhinoplasty is typically for making minor adjustments to the tip of the nose or getting rid of the dorsal hump.
Some patients may require open rhinoplasty, which uses a very small incision under the columella, which is the piece of tissue that separates your nostrils. This gives the surgeon more access to the tissues and bones in your nose, which is often necessary for more invasive surgeries.
During revision rhinoplasty, we reconstruct and reshape the bone and cartilage in your nose, either by removing excess tissue or grafting cartilage from elsewhere in the body for improved nasal structure and contour.

Expectations
What to expect throughout your rhinoplasty procedure
This surgical procedure is performed under anesthesia to keep patients as comfortable as possible. This procedure can be done under either general anesthesia or local anesthesia, and we will discuss this during your initial consultation to determine which option is best for you.
During the procedure, we will reshape the cartilage and bone structure underneath the skin. The surgery can take anywhere from two to five hours in total. Once the procedure is done, we will carefully place sutures in your incisions to help you heal safely.
Your doctor and our surgical team will discuss the procedure in detail with you during your pre-operative appointments.

Rhinoplasty recovery
Results and recovery process
The rhinoplasty recovery process typically takes three to four weeks in total, although it can take several months to see the final results.
The initial recovery period will last for approximately one week. You’ll need to wear a cast or splint during this time period. You’ll experience mild bruising and swelling, and you will likely need to take pain medication during the first two weeks of recovery.
Most patients are able to return to work in one to two weeks. You’ll be able to start exercising three to six weeks after surgery after a successful follow-up.

How much does a nose job cost?
Rhinoplasty costs depend on factors such as the level of expertise of the surgeon performing the surgery, the office location, and the complexity and duration of the procedure. It’s important to factor in additional costs, such as anesthesia, operating room facilities, or other relaxed expenses which can add to the total procedure cost.
Insurance coverage for rhinoplasty
Most health insurance companies do not cover cosmetic rhinoplasties. At our office, we offer several financing options, which include affordable payment plans to help make the procedure more accessible.

Frequently Asked Questions
You may be a suitable candidate if you are in generally good health, have a completely developed face (typically between ages 17 and 22), and do not smoke.
Most patients take one to two weeks off work, depending on their job and how fast they recover after surgery.
You may get dark bruises around your eyes after rhinoplasty due to the disruption of blood vessels while the nasal bones were altered. This is temporary and typically resolves within one to two weeks.
With closed rhinoplasty, there are no visible scars since incisions are made inside the nostrils. Open rhinoplasty may leave a small, discreet scar under the columella that fades over time.
You’ll be able to get an idea of what your new nasal contour looks like within a few weeks as swelling subsides, but it can take up to one year to see final results, when your nose is completely healed.
You can typically return to the gym three to six weeks after nose surgery or once your surgeon clears you for exercise.
You should avoid blowing your nose for about two weeks after rhinoplasty, as the pressure can cause complications and interfere with healing.
