During your mommy makeover consultation, we will help determine if you’re a good candidate for surgery. In general, good candidates are those who have experienced changes to their bodies as a result of pregnancy, breastfeeding, or aging.
Ideal candidates are healthy and have reached their target body weight. You must be fully recovered from childbirth and finished having children. If you are nursing, you’ll need to wait a few months after weaning before having breast surgery. If you are still breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant again in the future, non-surgical body contouring treatments or injectables may be recommended.

Types of mommy makeover procedures
A mommy makeover typically includes a combination of liposuction, breast augmentation, a breast lift lift, tummy tuck, butt augmentation, and vaginal rejuvenation surgery. We use advanced liposuction technologies such as tumescent liposuction, MicroAire® power liposuction and VASER® ultrasonic liposuction to eliminate fat in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, or arms.
Many patients undergo breast augmentation to restore volume to deflated breasts. Patients have the choice of saline or silicone breast implants or using their own body fat via fat transfer.
Often combined with breast augmentation, a breast lift elevates and reshapes sagging breasts and nipples to restore breasts to a more youthful position.
A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, tightens the abdominal muscles and removes excess skin, helping to achieve a flatter, taut stomach. This procedure often incorporates liposuction to sculpt the torso.
Some patients choose to enhance the shape and fullness of the buttocks using unwanted fat from other areas of the body. Also known as a Brazilian butt lift, this technique achieves a rounder, fuller butt, while sculpting a slimmer waist and hourglass shape.
For patients who do not have enough excess fat, butt implants may be needed to achieve the desired volume or projection, while improving roundness.
A labiaplasty reduces the size or hang of the labia minora, while vaginal rejuvenation typically involves liposuction of the mons pubis to remove any bulkiness above the vagina, and sometimes transfers fat to add volume and fullness to the labia majora.

What to expect throughout your mommy makeover procedure
A mommy makeover is a major cosmetic surgery that typically involves two to four procedures. In most cases, multiple procedures can be performed during a single operation, allowing a patient to improve multiple areas with only one surgery and recovery period. However, some procedures cannot be safely performed together and may be spread out over multiple sessions.
During surgery, your doctor will use either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation for your comfort. On average, the surgery lasts around four to six hours in total, depending on the number and complexity of the procedures performed. We will explain each procedure in detail prior to your surgery.

Results and recovery process
The initial recovery period typically takes one to two weeks, although this will depend on the specific procedures included in your mommy makeover. During this time, you’ll need to take time away from work, childcare, household, and work responsibilities. You should avoid lifting anything heavy (over 10 lbs), including young children, for at least six weeks after surgery.
You’ll experience the most soreness and swelling during the first week after surgery, with most of the swelling gone by six weeks. Your doctor will prescribe the necessary pain medications for a comfortable recovery. Full recovery, including returning to exercise, generally takes six to eight weeks. In most cases, you can expect your recovery time to be the same as the most extensive procedure you’re having, which is often a tummy tuck.
While it may take several months for your final results to fully appear as swelling resolves, many patients feel confident wearing a swimsuit three months post-surgery.
